45 years of taking pictures and this is the best I’ve got so far.

From a broken 110 film camera to a Nikon Z7ii which I accidentally kicked in the ocean shortly after purchase. I’m not so much the “spray and pray” type of photographer as I am the plan and setup for just the right shot type. Unlike other photographers in the digital age, I don’t replace, erase or otherwise add to the subject matter of my images. If a power line interferes with a shot it stays in. I want you, the viewer, to know that if you were standing next to me when I took the shot this is what you would have seen. Oh sure, I’ll mess with the color/light to no end (the world isn’t black and white after all), but the subject matter remains the same. This is the story I want to tell. I have nothing against somebody using photoshop to replace a dull sky with a better one taken a year earlier but please be honest about it. I come from a graphic design background and consider combining images or messing with subject matter to be digital art, not photography, but that’s just me.
