Fall From Ruin set

$0.00

These images come as a set of 3 in two different set sizes. These are the very same images I use in my artwork. Use them to create your own artwork or have them matted and framed. The is Cripple Creek Colorado and the road is Shelf Road. In 1890 Thomas Womack discovered gold in this area after many had attempted and failed. Immediately the rush was on and Cripple Creek and the neighboring town of Victor was booming. A lot of gold was taken out of these mountains (and still is) but in the effort the landscape was laid waste. Now, over 100 years later, people come from all over the world to see the incredible beautiful aspen trees, wildflowers and wildlife that has reclaimed the area. All around you can still see the scars of the old mine works but now they add character and mystery to the sense of grandeur all around.

Before Shelf road was a road the Pony Express used to use it to deliver the mail between Cripple Creek and Canyon City. The journey took 2 days. Now, if you want to deliver a letter from Cripple Creek to Canyon City it takes over four days because the letter has to travel to Denver before heading back to Canyon City. The essence of progress.
